WSX looks about done. LXR is up in the midgame interval 11-3.

A shame, but I really hope WSX takes this match to heart and trains hard to improve her attacking game.

WSX concedes the match, back pain. Still, keep up your spirit, WSX. You've done well in this tournament, exceeding our expectations.

Clearly a fake concession - she walks off with her bag on her back. Ridiculous. She'll never be champion (world no. 1 etc) again.

When LXR is not having one of her inexplicable lapses of concentration, she destroys her opponents.

Maybe. Let's see her win as many (big) titles as Lin Dan before we start making sweeping statements though.

your cute and up beat persona is starting to affect me, I rooted for WSX even though my brain clearly told me who's the superior player. And i was thinking " awww, azrenth is gonna be so disappointed." when she conceded. what the hell

You don't suppose her back pain is that serious that she couldn't carry her bag on her shoulder, do you? It's just bad enough for her not to aggravate it. Besides, there's no way she can fight her way back trailing so far behind with a slight injury, why take the risk.

After all, she has achieved more than what she set out to do in this tournament, that should be good enough for now. It's only the beginning for her comeback.

Maybe not so optimistic, consistently ranked within the top 3 -4 and beating the best in the ROW is already an extraordinary achievement. I'll be satisfied with that for her.

It's interesting because the definition of the "greatest player" is different between people. I personally see it from what the player achieves as well as the quality of their game. Others like GC choose to include their support for badminton as a sport across the world.

Speaking strictly from the quality of the game and achievements, I would say Lin Dan would be the greatest player hands down when considering how many world championships, 2 olympic gold medals, etc. he has won even though he may not have won as many of the smaller super series tournaments. He also holds a vastly superior H2H against LCW and has defeated LCW at almost all the big occasions.

If the greatest player were to include the support for the sport and maintaining the highest integrity, it would definitely make a much closer argument because of LD's walkovers and withdrawals (which I suspect were not always his choice, mind you).
