Hi! does anybody know if different brands strings is better than the other, like a Yonex with a gauge of 0.70, 0.68 etc better than other brands with the same gauge? they all look like they have the same technology but different prices.

Go and use GOSEN R4x100 (0.63) or R4x200 (0.66) ... then you know you have been "seduced" by Yonex superior marketing for years into paying 30-50% more for BG66 !!

I know coz I have now permanently switched to these Gosen strings ... :p

there are companies that measure their gauge after prestretched, so make sure you know which is which. i believe yonex measure their gauges prior to stringing, and ashaway measure their strings after it's been prestretched. and also depends on the stiffness of the string. i've had one experience where i strung my racket with luxilon supersense string and this string is so stiff it didn't take a whole lot for my crank to travel before achieving the tension desired.
