I'm not at all surprised that Sakai beat Santoso, watch out for him in 2013.

Simon is still not fully fit after suffering from a bout of virus infection (in Indonesia, it's called gondongan) since end of last year.

A very competitive first round with PB Tangkas Specs managing to oust Unisys Badminton Club of Japan 3-2, after Alamsyah Yunus (whom Tangkas recruits from PB Pertamina, just for this Superliga) beat Kazushi Yamada in 3-sets. Nguyen Tien Minh and Markus Fernaldi Gideon/Wahyu Nayaka A.P. contributed the other 2 pts after straight-sets victories over Takuma Euda and Kenta Kazuno/Ryota Taohata.

The defending champion, PB SGS PLN, is currently locked in a battle against Tonami Badminton Club (also of Japan) 2-2. Kenichi Tago lost in 3 gruelling sets to fellow Japanese Sho Sasaki 13-21, 21-17, 23-25. The World No 5 pair Hirokastsu Hashimoto/Noriyasu Hirata also contributed 1 pt after beating Hendra A.G./Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki 16-21, 21-15, 18-21. Meanwhile, Taufik Hidayat and the TPE pair Tsai Chia-Hsin/Lee Sheng-Mu won 2 pts by beating Riichi Taohata and Keigo Sonoda/Takeshi Kamura. I think Tonami will take this tie as Sho Zeniya is much more experienced compared to Adi Andrianus Prasojo.

The evening match-up between PB Jaya Raya Suryanaga (the host) and PB Djarum Kudus will be an evenly fought contest.

MS1: Sony Dwi Kuncoro vs Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka - no doubt, the revitalized Sony (currently World No 4) should beat Hayom, unless Hayom is super motivated and creates a massive upset.

MD1: Rian Agung Saputro/Alvent Yulianto Chandra vs Mohd Ahsan/Afiat Yuris Wirawan - Djarum needs to take this tie to avoid going 0-2 behind. They have a good chance as they have the in-form Mohd Ahsan. However, Alvent's experience in team matches may tilt this to Suryanaga's favour.

MS2: Hu Yun vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono - also a tough one. Hu Yun has a slight edge.

MD2: Christopher Rusdianto/Trikusuma Wardhana vs Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan - I think this is the only tie that Djarum has an edge and they must take this one (if they haven't lost 0-3 by this tie).

MS3: Wong Wing Ki vs Shesar Hiren Rhustavito - I am not sure about Vito's stamina as he has been injured since before WJC. WWK has a clear and decisive edge.

PB Jaya Raya Suryanaga to win 4-1 or 3-2 due to the strength of its singles.

Order Event Malaysia Tigers Badminton Club - PB. Musica Champion Score Points Duration
    1 MS1 - 23-21 21-14 1-0 0:45

A lesson for our datuk? Hey, dont get so cocky now , even LD type R can beat you.

Seems like MAS camp has another player who has beaten (with official record) LCW other than HH and WCH.

What a pathetic scoreline for Hayom as he lost meekly 8-21, 8-21. I still think he needs to be booted out of Pelatnas. Totally lack of motivation and spirit!

Djarum is currently being thrashed by Suryanaga as they trail 0-3. Can they take the last 2 pts?
