In a lot of my play of singles, I tend to mostly always only have one or two point difference between my opponent regardless of skill level. I find I kind of let my opponent get points through a subconscious change playstyle (clearing more, not smashing as much) when I'm ahead or at equal points. There has been instances where I'm three points behind, I know I have to catch up, I win three points in a row by playing without mercy.I know to always put in 100% effort, but what is the most common tactic to win a match score wise? Should we ever change mindset or playstyle depending on the score?

sounds arrogant and lazy to me

play vs better opponents and be forced to play your best at all times and still lose
