i recently bought an ISO TI Swing power SS in thailand early september at their YONEX shop in World trade center bangkok. i've only used it a couple of times and noticed a break/crack at the 10 o' clock position at the head. WILL YONEX REPLACE THIS FOR A NEW ONE? Does warranty apply in my situation? Need feedback from all thai people on this forum. THANKS GUYS!!!
FYI: i have a friend whose going to bangkok this week..and he can bring it to yonexWTC for replacement.
Well, did you hit anything or clash with other people's rackets? I guess if you do, Yonex won't replace it.....
i did not hit or clash with anybody. i was playing with it in a doubles match and after the game noticed the crack on my frame. there are no paint chips near the crack or anywhere on the frame so yonex cannot say i've hit it on something.
How much tension did u string ur racket? Did u cut the string after u found this crack? I heard some manufacture won't accept the defection claim, if u cut the string or the string tension is over their recommanded tension list. Not sure if this applies for ur case.
i have not cut the strings on the raket (BG65ti), in fact i can still play with it if i want but decided not to bacause of the warranty. tension was 22lbs.
my view---forget the warranty. Remove the handle grip and cut an inch off the end of thr handle...voila a junior racket isopow at that. I discovered a crack on my prince stealth and did the aforementioned procedure. Now my son is so proud of his trendy and expensive smash racket. He can't possibly wreck this one unless he hits the ground in frustration. I treasure my isopow SS that I would rather pull away fro a swing when I feel my partner is going after the birdie. I even use a cloth bag like the ones for the golf iron. Recycle.....how about cutting the strings and save the grommets you may need some for restringing.
