I bought two rackets from quite a well know online badminton outlet, a NS9900 and an Ark Z-S. Both were selected with BG 65 @ 24lb. Within one hour the rackets were described as dispatched, so I called to confirm they were to be strung to this tension which was confirmed. I now have them but am pretty sure they are both at a lower tension (factory) Is there any indication or any hitting tests I can do to confirm?? Anyone else had this experience.
the only way to do it once the racquet is strung is to have someone provide you the tone recording of the racquet's string for you to compare the pitch. you have to compare the tone of the same string on a same size racquet head. the ns9900 is slightly bigger than usual isometric head, whilst the ZS is smaller than usual.. so there will be pitch differences on the same tensions
By the way both rackets come unstrung from the factory so your seller had to string them. He could however have strung them a few days ago,
In the UK they still come pre-strung iirc unless you choose to have them strung at your preference. But I don't think BG65 is the factory string, usually it is BG65Ti ...
Sorry, the string is BG 65 Ti. There is the option to take the racket factory strung plus free gift... I took the option to have the racket strung at 24lb with BG65Ti.
I used two reputable stringers and I find their '28lbs' gives me different tensions (same racquets, same strings). There is can be variation between machines.
To check my stringer's consistency, I use a frequency detector app like ClearTune iOS or CarlTune in Android. It allows me to keep track of the relative tension which is good enough for my purpose. I'm not sure there's any easy way to check absolute tension.
