I wonder when's the draw, and how the rackets/strings compare with the competition. March 2013 in Hong Kong. Reviews by owners when available.
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, this might be a game changer. Having such an established sports equipment brand could mean bigger/better things for badminton like more endorsements. Let's see if other big brands such as Nike will jump on board!

addidas came out with table tennis equipment a year ago, i guess they are trying to branch out!!! very good idea!!! can't let li ning have all the fun!!!

on a side note, the table tennis equipment from addidas aren't exactly cheap either, but still worth a try.

This is a significant move by sport's #1 player. If badminton can't capitalize on the muscle that is Adidas, I fear it'll be forever looked at as a backyard sport.

Victor Germany :D? One pic looks like inside wave technology :p [edit: at second peek not so much, paintjob made it appear that way from a quick glance; that red-copper one that stands out from the black-white]

And in case you have missed it, it was reported that Viktor Axelsen will be switching to Adidas very soon: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/84219-Viktor-Axelsen?p=2018329#post2018329

So far the designs are as disappointing as expected: a wash of glossy black and white in line with their tennis rackets
Only positive surprise is that they will have 20 models at launch already according to their facebook ...

If Adidias have gone to Victor, good on them:) - it would have been so easy to get a billion tingtong cheapo frames made and daub them with the three stripes.

hope adidas come out with a very good method to identify the original product or fake one.. since adidas product is so easy to be duplicate...

Wishful thinking perhaps :D, but after reading the majority of mountain bike frames for all brands come out of one or two factories in Taiwan, one being the Giant factory, perhaps not all that far-fetched :). Sort of like a Foxconn for bikes or perhaps more like the Samsung of the bike industry ...
Maybe they have hired some engineers from Victor Germany responsible for their own line to develop for them, who knows. Just speculating, have not read anything about it ... But 20 models is quite a lot so either they are cheapo ones or they have been busy for quite a while.

Their hybrid stringing might tickle your interest [IMG]

I doubt they are using Victor, the Adidas Badminton HQ seems to be in Hong Kong

Hopefully they wont overprice the rackets should be priced below yonex, li ning etc

Wow, quite unexpected news for 2013.

Im a fan of the adidas badminton shoes and shirts you can get in Japan. I wonder if this means the same range will be being extended to a European market.
Im surprised about Axelsen but if someone is offering you more money and raising your profile you cant blame him for leaving Yonex.

20 plus rackets to be released seems like a lot.

Not sure about the current range available in Japan as far as clothing but it was mentioned the whole range coming out will be available at launch in March in 50 markets worldwide. Axelsen for one will get his own range of clothing according to the article in his thread and supposedly a racket was developed for him or will be. The shoes as worn by Reiko and Shintaro lately have been available here for some years though. The very latest on the japanese adidas site perhaps not yet ...

This racket looks SWEET! Hopefully it would be quite as good as the Yonex or Li-Ning range, but less pricier :D
