Re: contacts???????
The lens is an uneven curvature hence the astigmatism.
As to why it should get like that, sorry, don't know the answer.

Re: contacts???????
Rubbing ur eyes is one of the causes of astig, not the only one. Like Cheung, I only know how astig comes abt, not what causes it. And my @#$% right lens split in half today... damn! On a lighter note, someone sent me some really nice pics of Tony Gunawan =)

Re: contacts???????
No, I'm not... but that explains why I have no hand-eye co-ordination. Left eye and right hand... how sad can you get?
May, I dun have a lazy eye. Surprisingly too.

Re: contacts???????
Wow! I'm surprised that high level (doubles) players wear glasses and still play at such a fast pace (Sigit). I remember the days when I preferred contacts over glasses for badminton. I have -4.50 and 175 in astimagtism. On multi shuttle drills (usually both side defence) I had problem following the 2nd shuttle - defending a close to line on backhand and the next one going on the forehand side. The opthalmologist said that contact lenses cannot follow very quick eyes movement so in those situations my vision could blurred which was what I experienced. Probably the contact lenses now are much improved from those I used to wear.
As an aside, the opthalmologist who is a very good friend of mine was also not in favor of surgeries to correct the vision problems. Told me to do as him, wear glasses though he himself perform the vision correction surgeries. When asked him why just he just smiled and told me to follow his example!!

Re: contacts???????
But why????? I noticed that some of my Primary school friends who wore, or rather, were supposed to wear glasses, didn't like to and therefore, didn't wear the glasses, their eyesights better than mine. And i am the one who wears my glasses conscientiously.
