Yep, and I found out that
BP = (Head wt / Total wt) x (Racket length ie 675mm).

Someone have told me that the frame sounds hollow when you misshit,
does it really sounds like that,
every miss hit sounds like going to snap the racket at the frame...

Yep, I was knocking the frame and handle with my knuckles... both were noticeably hollower sounding than other rackets.

Seems like yonex removes the weight not only at shaft,
they remove for the head too.
Seems like 6-7g each from head and shaft.

Wonder 5U version will add back weight in head only or head+shaft.
If head only, that would be interesting, should be able to generate more omph!

If assuming head weight and swing speed is the only variable for smashes,
momentum transfer during smashes base on calculation do drop on by 14% for Arc FB.

Head weight (from visor) x smash velocity = momentum transfered

38g (head heavy racket) x 200km/h = 7600 g.km/h
32.6 (Arc FB) x 200km/h (doubt on yonex claimed 30km/h faster) = 6520 g.km/h

Hmmm dont think ArcFB is meant to excel in powerful smashes and definitely not suitable for players who like to play big smashes mostly hahaha. Take note that Yonex market it as :

"Use the ARC-FB’s quick handling to step in towards the net and be more attacking in your style of play. Take control of the game by turning defence into attack."

based on your calculation, of 7600g.km/h, if a 5 grams shuttle receives the full momentum transfer, that would mean the shuttle will be travelling over 1000 km/h!!.....!!!


i would think if the flash boost allows you to swing 15% faster, it compensates for 15% of mass.. since its all M*V... 32.6*115% = 37.49 grams...

I think you've made mistake here. Should be head speed or angular speed here and not the resulting smash (shuttlecock) speed.

After watching BoMo go down to LiuQiu today, I wonder how much of a role did having Mo use this racket play in their loss. He seemed to have good power and angles, but not much better in defence or drives. Even his smashes seemed slightly tepid.

For me, 1 match can't really tell anything,
some have just jump into conclusion that the lost is cost by FB,
but I will still hope to see Mo will continue for next tournament and uses it.
