There seems to be a surprise in this year's new products line up. Yonex will be releasing for the first time (I believe) a 6U racket :O

The Yonex ArcSaber Flash Boost is planned to release this year with a RRP of 275$.

Has anyone got more informations on this one ? :)

Also would like to know how many of you have been waiting for a super light racket from Yonex!

i would still buy the ar11 and the arc fb, but sometimes i wonder how many of these yonex rackets have been original designs and not just a heavier or lighter version of another racket with a different paint job and a different shaft? i know the question is redundent but since i don't know the ins and outs od yonex racket production, i do wonder from time to time.

Isn't that the purpose of a series :p? Variants of a basic/same concept? Unless you are talking between different series? Well I guess there are more or less only 3 concepts, as we could also see in a didas' lineup, so a new series to replace an old with practically the same concept you might think it hasn't been re-designed from scratch. Not unlike cars I suppose that supposedly eventhough looking practically the same have been completely overhauled (completely different levels of complexity of course ;)). If you read about Panda's racket "development" it seems to be endlessly testing combinations of frames and shafts and materials to find one combo that actually works :).

In this case they have used some new kind of new nano application ("nanometric") to achieve a 6U racket with the highest swingspeed for Yonex so far according to the description. Also the 11 apparently has improved upon cs carbon nanotube material, a new t-joint of some sort (t-anchor?) and the magic sonic metal :p
Just noticed those AT900's are finally gone as well ... leaving room for ... :D.

I understand what u mean but I guess I'm starting to doubt yonex's pitch of their techs, like the stacked tubing and other things, are they really like that or is it just a lie. Since I'm not rich I can't afford to just buy an arc and cut it apart to find out :). At the same time I'm a diehard fan so ill probably get the arc11 and arcfb :). At the same time I don't see any other company making that many models of the same line that quickly. I agree that rackets in the same series will probably be very similar so it's not surprising that the 11 and fb is coming out since there hasn't been much going on since the launch of nanorays!

You should check out the badmintoncn forum for hacked up rackets and other equipment [IMG] (not that they have necessarily isolated a cupstacked nano carbon or something but I have seen chopped up rackets on there and shoes which is interesting to just see in any case :D (also recently saw a hacked up MP77 through google image search on MP77, that or MP55 )
    edit: 77 indeed http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...Why-Yonex-is-better......?p=193803#post193803).

As for quick releases I believe ants let slip that quite a few Voltric models for example were already practically ready for launch before the first one introduced the Voltric series, the rest is indeed merely strategically launching a top end model at/around the key events (Japan Open and All England).

Back on the Flash Boost I've noticed no mention of the weight has been listed in the specs, merely F5, 6 -.^ ...

very interesting!!!! i love the hacked up mp77, now i really want to get another one since whatever they advertised has indeed proven in existence. for the arc fb, the japanese post on this page states that it'll be made in taiwan, so a midrange racket i assume???

Not with that price [IMG]! Supposedly weighs 73gr. so a 6U indeed ... The Made in Taiwan is for the racket case/sleeve thingie C-SCS, and replacement grommet set AC416ACB.

next big thread would be, "who's got the best light weight racket?" now that yonex made one to compete with that of other manufacturers :)

"Evolution" ... what do you care :D, we don't have to buy it ;). Is probably what they said when they went under 100gr. as well :p "Under 100gram??? Too light! Must be for children?!?"

That Thwack that Julie Houmann is using is also a 5U already. Interesting though that the target group seems to be the intermediate male player [IMG] (for the FB).
