Daren, who had never beaten Taufik before, said: “It can be seen as a good and bad thing.

“Yes, it is good I have qualified for the quarterfinals, but I’m sad I haven’t had the opportunity to play Taufik here. Not playing may also affect my rhythm.”

After Taufik roared back to stuff NTM in style, I was looking forward to a prolonged run in the tournament. My hopes were really up.

I guess the "old" boy must have suffered a parts failure in this endeavour. Shame. My hopes are really down now.

Some nice match-ups:

Jan O vs Kashyap. h2h is 1-1. The last time they went to a decider, and all 3 games went into extra points!

ZYL/ZQ vs JF/CP. I just love to watch JF play the top Chinese pairs. He has this incredible energy, he makes you believe he can win it all on his own and CP is the perfect foil to his hyper persona.

Linda vs the Noz. Yesterday, Noz had a tough ol' time adjusting to the drift against another Linda (Zetchiri), let's see if she's got it figured out today!

Liew Daren vs Django. Oh sorry, Django's run out of ammo!

Songphon/Kunchala vs Anders/Julie. Keep an eye on the Danes; they're improving all the time.

Chandra/Kido vs Ivanov/Sozonov. OMG, I'm gonna need a neck-brace when I'm through watching this one!

if every match went to decider
we will have past midnight matches again.
5 court is good from organiser point of view.
but the crowd will suffer from selection.
4 court is already hard to watch.
of course,unless those audience only fancy one or two player
