Hi. Do anybody knows if Hong Kong open has a website?? And can anybody please tell me todays results?
Good question! The link to the results on worldbadminton.net doesn't work and I've not found any dedicated site...
yeah i also noticed that, its really annoying . Kwun do you know a link or have you seen the results for todays matches in Hong Kong Open?
no. i haven't been able to find anything either. surprising to see that such a big event doesn't have live coverage on the web.
The website for Hong Kong Sports Institute is: www.hksdb.org.hk But they don't have any info for Hong Kong Open. Another site is www.hksdb.org.hk/nsa/badminton but it seems like they haven't updated it for a long time
Yesterday's qualifying matches were held at the HK sports Institute in Fo Tan. This is where the HK squad train daily. It's quite far away from the QE stadium. Pity anybody playing on court 9. That court is really draughty (Kwun, more than the Pleasanton court) JR is on court soon apparently (1st match) website? may not exist. The funding for upgrading to 6* was quite late and the website may have dropped down in priorities. There are only a few staff doing quite a few duties within the main office. As for contracting out a website designer to do the results, maybe it was lack of funding. Kwun should have volunteered and get free entry to every day's play Maybe he could have even got a free plane ticket!!!!
I found that a lot of young players from the HK team have passed the qualifying matches (such as Wong Wai Hong, Yan Chun Yu, Chan Yan Kit, etc.). This is somewhat surprising to me and hope they can gain more experiences in this tournament.
I am very dissappointed that now there is still no any result list in the ibf website. I don't think the organizer is employable !
Yes, its strange. The Hungary Open for instance (also this week) has its own site with results, qual draw etc, and yet a world event like HK has nothing. Perhaps the IBF could have hosted a site for them , it only takes one guy with a laptop after all!!
the link at worldbadminton.net is working already. however the lastest results have not been updated yet.
Gade won Only result i got from www.badmintontv.dk Gade won 15-5 15-5 against a chan kit from Hong Kong.. anybody who has other results?
There are a few results from Malaysian mens doubles in qualifications in this thread (in the article posted by ants). In mixed doubles first round, Japanese Imai & Nakayama bt French Stoyanov & Wright 17-15 15-13, that's the only other result I have!
only three european pairs got through to the second round in mixed doubles! JR and Rikke Olsen are part of them...
Perhaps the heat plays a role in the fast knockout of europeans. In Europe its quite cold right now but in asia there's over 20 celsius degrees. Why is it only Mix Double which is updated? and is second round going to be played today?
