Hi everyone, I was hoping if anyone could recommend me a top end Yonex racket for me to use when I play doubles. I would say that im intermediate to advanced level, I like being at the front of the net intercepting, and between me and my partner if we're defending, im usually the one who blocks a smash and turns it into offence. Also I dont want a racket thats too headlight because I still want some power in my smashes. Any advice would help, thanks!
for me, I'm prefer voltric series... why don't you try Voltric 80.. good for smashing n defends too.. but use for the first time, it will take sometimes to get used it..
Sounds to me you like responsive rackets. Have you thought about trying a different brand? Victor are quality and the Bravesword series might be what you are looking for. Take a look at the BS10, 11 and 12. I used to use Yonex racquets but since trying Victor I won't be going back. If you seek only for yonex, then look at Hendra Setiawan. He is using Arcsaber 7 and very skilfull in front of the net during today's MDF Final at Malaysia open Nevertheless... I opt for BS12 or MX60 for playing doubles at the front IMHO

yea.. braveswords are good! esp bs10.. power and fast! don worry about the extra stiff.. u will love it.. esp at front court..
I have a very similar play style to you (basically he same mind of partnership too kinda funny) and I would definitely reccomend you try the arcsaber 10 or if you want something stiffer try the arcsaber 8dx. Could also wait for the arcsaber 11 but nobody can say if that's worth anything yet so it depends if you're on a rush. However I feel if you only look at yonex you're really limiting yourself to what's out there.
Voltric Z Force 4U for faster game play and Voltric Z Force 3U for better smash power. Jack of all trades, Armortec 700 Premium 3U.
Or you could use the same as Mathias Boe: a Voltric 80 4U with lead tape (or without if you dont want a racket that will be ridiculously head heavy). If you can try some rackets before you buy, I would highly recommend it. I'm currently having a lot of fun playing with either my Victor MX60 or my Yonex Nanoray 700FX. (I would've like to try the NR 800 but since my shoulder injury, it's a no go). Both are quick and can generate some nice power.
Judging by your post, I guess the Arc 10 is the best choice for you - but note that the smashes it generates is slightly underwhelming at times, unless you put a lot of effort into them.
It is not lead tape but athletic tape. That much lead tape would make it an unusable training racket ...
