I felt it necessary to open a separate thread to this youngster who proved to the whole world that she has potential. Name : Yao Xue D.O.B : 17/1/1991 Height :174 cms Right hand player. Birth Place :Hubei Jingzhou
Jumped 70 places ahead in just a week of time and reached her career best ranking of 81 in BWF Ranking list. Wonderful
I thought it was necessary to mention her as youngster because she is just 22. 22 is not older at all.. If by chance she looks into this thread, she may feel happy and perform even better...
22 doesn't seem that young. Li Xuerui is 21, Tai tzu ying is like 19, Inthanon is like 18. Is Yao Xue really a top player of the future? I'm not so sure.
From watching the MO WS final, either Tai Tzu Ying was too good, or Yao Xue was too nervous. Otherwise, she is no where near the 3 Wang's or LXR's level yet.
I thought to open this thread for Yao Xue and made available for everybody in order to discuss about her performances and her skills. But everybody took the word "youngster" instead and started discussing about it!!!.. :crying:.
I like her...but I'm just not confident she'll be a star player for the Chinese team. Li Xuerui, Wang Yihan were much better players than she is at the same age. But who knows? Wang Xin peaked relatively late, Zhang Ning of course peaked very late.
Congratulations to Yao Xue winning her first title, the MAS GPG' 14. I can't help but feel that Yao Xue has some similarities to LXR, just as decisive and aggressive in attack - in fact, YX's smashes is even more lethal - but also equally prone to errors as well as having the tendency to suffer from once-too-often lapses of concentration (brain-fades). Generally, it's true that attacking players are more inclined to commit errors but the really good ones should be able to keep it to the minimum. At risk of sounding cliche, both LXR and Yao Xue are their own worst enemies. LXR must overcome this shortcoming if she is to become a truly great player and Yao Xue, who has shown some improvement in this aspect, has to do more to rise among the top few in the world (too early for me to say whether she has what it takes to become a great player, let's take it one step at a time for YX).
