Badzine has been updating this list for about a month now. Feel free to check it for gaps it might fill in, or need filled in.
To fill in some gaps, exact dates are: Hungary : 13-14 April Poland : 28 March (probably 28-30) Portugal: 15-16 June Slovakia: 19-21 April Spain : 10-12 May Turkey : 10-13 May Ukraine : 1-4 February http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/tournament.aspx?id=049A8C81-704B-48D4-AD62-D108098B0A1D
Some interesting results in Denmark : HKV losing in R2 to Messerschmidt (1992, 188cm) after a bye in R1, Viktor Axelsen (1994) losing in the semi-final to unseeded Morten Brodbaek (1992). Rasmus Bonde in position to take two titles: MD in a devaluated field and XD with Christinna Pedersen (filling in for JFN no doubt). CP already bagging the WD title with Juhl so also in position to grab two titles ...
Thanks for the video, Demolidor. Was looking for Morten Brödbaek vs Axelsen yesterday. He was danish junior champion, too, so he could be a good MS for Denmark in the coming years. Was also very surprised to see Vittinghus bow out. Tine Baun is playin right now, Jan Joergensen vs Morten Brodbaek coming up when they finished. Good luck Morten!
Yes, seems like only yesterday these names were flying around the Danish Junior Cup, etc. Messerschmidt is a name that's hard to forget for sure . And I see I wrote the 188cm behind the wrong name, should be for Brodbaek to show he is practically as tall as Axelsen and a lefty is always useful to have around as well. No idea if they are in the national setup though ... didn't think so.
Brodbæk pretty much disappeared from the European circuit for a year. Him, Rasmus Fladberg and Flemming Quach, seemed to be good prospects for Denmark as back up for Jorgensen, HKV and Axelsen, but Quach is inconsistent, Fladberg hasn't really done much, and Brodbæk disappeared... Emil Holst, was also supposed to be a talent to watch, but he's yet to really prove his worth internationally. A few decent wins around Europe but nothing else really.
