    Just wondering, if i were to order something from an HK badminton store...and have it shipped to USA...in particular, WA, if there will be taxes collected when the item is delivered.

    Never had anything shipped from overseas to my USA address before.

    Thanks

    in theory yes. in practice, unless you have a gigantic package, they don't usually spend the time to do it.

    sometimes people get unlucky though.

    I thought you guys had $1000 tax free limit on imports? Must've been Australia ...

    Not sure if this is accurate but from a site called duty calculator this is what rolled out for a $150 strung (tennis) racket + $20 shipping

    [h=4]Notes on duty & taxes rates[/h]
    • Yonex Racket has an import duty rate of 5.3% .
    [h=4]Notes on import taxes due[/h]
    • Duty due is nil because the total value of the products does not exceed US$200.00
    • In rare cases, state sales tax may be collected in addition to import duty & taxes
