How do you make that bulge at the end of the grip?

I notice some tournament players have a wider bulge at the end of the grip, looks like that would be good to stop the racket flying out of your hand, so how do you do it?

Just take a spare offcut of grip, cut it into a thin strip, and wrap it around the end of the handle.

The material he is using? Underwrap or Athletic tape?

the end cap provides a buldge doesnt it? wouldnt a bigger bulge impede manoeuverability?

I have just created a relatively modest bulge using a winding of thin electricians insulating tape, which I also use to finish off the wrapping at the shaft end. I think my opponents this evening will be intimidated by my bulge.

He already named it: (pro-wrap) "Pro Wrap"

. Should be cheaper than the Yonex one if you find it locally. It is not a cushion wrap but the material might be similar ...

This is how I did with my BS-LYD using the Yonex AC380 cushion wrap, the original grip was peeled off and wrapped one layer of Li Ning GP35 with minimum overlap to create an almost flat surface...

The butt cap bulge is not as thick as what it is shown in Derrick's video but I think it should be enough just to prevent the racket from flying off and make a more solid base for the little finger to rest when i grab the racket lower. I did the similar thing just below the cap to fill in the gap where the wood handle slotted into the support cap.

I have got myself a roll of Muller m-tape and under-wrap. Now, am thinking what is the best way to wrap the handle:

a) wrap a layer of m-tape -> under-wrap -> over-grip
b) wrap a layer of under-wrap -> m-tape -> over-grip

I am thinking of option (b) as the m-tape should hold the under-wrap better, rather than letting the over-grip to hold the under-wrap in option (a).

What do you think?

The video from derrickn is very good.
But you can also use a strip of a towel grip around the butt cap and then putting you normal overgrip on it.
So you don't have to buy a special tape if you may have a towel grip strip at home
