every major sport needs its own sport specific stadium, not just for technical reasons, but to establish hallowed ground.
Soccer has Old Trafford, baseball has yankee stadium, tennis has Wimbledon.

we have a couple of places in the US which is dedicated badminton stadiums. not as glamorous as what you envisioned. but it is completely dedicated to badminton and no other sports are played there.
one of these is Orange Country Badminton Club
aside from holding the annual US Open, it is used daily for badminton recreation and training as well.
besides OCBC, we have dozens of other dedicated badminton gyms. but maybe less qualified as "stadium".
the question is, we do have this stadium, but what good is it?

Old Trafford? You mean Wembley ... which was torn down. Yankee stadium? Torn down ...
Aside from Wimbledon these stadiums are jam-packed every week. What in the world do you need a badminton specific stadium for (and more importantly, how should it look like to come back around to one of your many similar threads )? There already is Istora Senayan for one but it is also an indoor tennis stadium, I've seen a book fair held there as well ... Basketball stadiums double as icehockey stadiums. Madison Square Garden is as famous as they come and is mulitpurpose stadium as well ...

there are a few places which has been historically significant for badminton. Istora Senayan, Stadium Negara, and Wembley Arena. they are as hallowed a place for badminton as we know it.
however, as mentioned, none of them are badminton specific and some of them are not used for major badminton regularly anymore.
but what if they are badminton specific? what good would it do? it certain sounds grand and all that. but sounding good isn't doing anybody any good...

I don't think it has to be badminton specific but I think badminton could benefit greatly from a venue or two which has that magic/glamour. The Monaco F1 GP for instance is not F1 specific, it is a bunch of streets but still it has so much magic surrounding it. Recently there was a exhibition in UK at the Albert hall in Nottingham(pictured below) which is quite a cool Venue. Coincidentally the world first open tournament was held at the Royal Albert hall in London which is a great venue steeped in history. With some clever decorating (not the usual professional setup) This could really be pretty special. I think this is where a tournament like the Super series final could be played or a similar year end best of the best tournament.

The Royal Albert Hall was been a venue for the 1982 Thomas Cup. If another tournament could be held there, the atmosphere would certainly be different to then.

Seems like the perfect place then. Looks like it is over looked as one of the most prolific places in Badminton history. Get on it BWF!
