i have to agree, the matte finish is very sexy and not too common on badminton rackets. and the racket being almost all black brings back memories when i used to play with a yonex blacken.

He was using VT Elite. That (in the picture) must be X90, doesn't make sense switching to the original head light and flexi Kinesis.

He has been using the Kinetic since after the Summer break. Might have already used it at the Japan Open but definitely at the Denmark Open (have a high res pic to back it up as well ) .

I had the X80/90 in my hands, they have a gloss finish instead of the matte colour of the kinesis, it's a sort of purple/blue/black blend that seems to change colour in different lighting. So despite logic, it seems he did switch from a heavy/headheavy racket to a light ultraflex racket.

Does anyone here know a place in the US where I can buy the Carlton Kinesis x90? The only ones I see available is the Regular Kinesis. Or if I can somehow purchase it from the main website? Thanks

Rackets now available from Direct Sports in the UK. A bit pricey but tempting to try a stiffer Kinisis.

I'd love to hear some reviews, especially concerning feedback/vibration!

Tempted to get a Kinesis with the sale at Badmintonalley, but its reputation of breaking without mishits is holding me back....

Direct sports = direct badminton or sports direct?

Anyway, they're cheapest at sports direct, but with no free extras.

It would be great to get some reports on these maybe some reviews now that they are on sale in UK. Specs aren't very clear. Difference in stiffness in particular...
I am aware of two cases of broken kinesis (the original head light). Almost new rackets, broken at the top of the frame on the twist point - no mishits reported. It would be great to channel further information here so we get a better image. I tried the original kinesis and I was very impressed - very powerfull and fast in the same time. X90 could well be a beast.

Just discovered this model. I had the VT Tour which was one of my favourite rackets, so I have a soft spot for Carlton. KX70 is right up my alley....hrm......

I've just recieved my Carlton Kinesis X70, will give it a swing tomorrow. I've had a professional restring to BG80 at 22LBS (regular tension here in my area, that's around 10KG). The added spec. sheet, that was on the stringbed lists the following:

Carlton Kinesis X90: Head Heavy, 86G in weight, Extra Stiff
Carlton Kinesis X80: Head Heavy, 87G in weight, Stiff
Carlton Kinesis X70: Head Heavy, 84G in weight, Medium

All three rackets are 675MM long. I can take pictures later as well, the racket finish looks very good!

P.S. Edit: I've played with the Vapour Trail Tour up to now as well.
