    Hi all,

After the talk of video taping yourself to see your weaknesses etc i thought i would try it and with geat effect too! I keep kind of a monthly video diary, to see if i have got any better etc. In this latest one, i kinda like this lunge for the net that i have done. Dunno why, but the end result was a tumbling net shot that hit the tape and rolled over. The shuttle in the pic is the white dot just above my head. Its in black and white because i have the video on pause.

    Matt

    Cheung,

Yup, of course that shuttle is further foward and of course the lunge is bigger to get to it, but thats what i do, and consistantly too. Could take pictures of me smashing, defence etc if anyone was interested??

How is the training going as you don't update anymore.

Any chance of you coming up to get match experience in the Scottish open in November??

Sorry Matt, I was not clear enough. I was referring to how your foot is turned in relation to your body. It turns outwards - something I've never been able to do.

I realised that.. you must have a strong ankle to do that.. ankle breaking move man.

I think it is less ankle breaking than doing it the other way! the other way (inwards) also wrecks your knees!

Chen Hong places his foot outwards everytime, much better than say, Bao, who sometimes still points inwards around 50% time

Matt any other relationships to chen hong in your game?!

    Nice pic.

He is my father! lol, only joking, i got another lunge thats alot lower than that, i'll pause it and see i its the same but it's a straight on drop, so ankle might not be the same. It always goes like that, it's just more comfortable than going inwards.

That there is one fine fencers lunge!!

Used in fencing for extra balance to get under your opponents defence to attack

Next move is to do the Bao lunge at the net falling over, and then recovering for the next shot. LOL

Also you have to be playing Lin Dan who will do his superman dive!:D
