"ARC" not AS ;). There might be enough stock left to last a lifetime seeing as it wasn't that popular so they only stopped the production of it [IMG].
Or ARC11 is the replacement for both ...

[did we really need a whole new thread for just this?]

8DX is quite different from 10 and many prefer 8DX. the word "might" means you are guessing !!!

"Many"? They just had a warehouse sale in Singapore for half off, it was literally dirt cheap. Even in Japan it is half price in some stores ...
It is possible there will be a replacement but on the other hand: why? Might as well leave it to the next series. I also prefer it over ARC10 btw but I don't think it would be that hard to find a replacement for it amongst all the brands together ...

Haven't seen this kind of clearance iirc, usually they jack up the prices for discontinued models :D (not in Japan but SE Asia)

I also don't think there will be a model with a higher number than 11 (11 which at least has some history as the top model number in a range) so what should the replacement be named? Maybe ArcSaber 6 or FlashBoost will turn out suitable ... if not the 11.

I think for one reason or another the 8DX just didn't sell very well. Most probably as it wasn't promoted and endorsed as heavily as the Arc10.

I'm a big fan of the 8DX, one of my favourite racquets and I do feel it's a bit of a shame it wasn't as successful as the Arc10 - which I think is a far lesser racquet.

But I already have two 8DX's and I think that will be enough as it's not the only racquet I use. Plus I'm sure there will be other racquets that will come out later that will be just as good.

Having purchased my first non-Yonex racquet in over 20yrs (BS-LYD) it has opened my eyes a lot more to how good the competition is. If you like the 8DX and want a little more power and can tolerate a tad more head weight I would recommend trying the BS-LYD.

the reason ARC8DX is less popular than ARC10 is simple:

    8 < 10.

the ARC11 will be as popular as the ARC10. why?

    11 > 10.

Keep in mind that Yonex can only keep so many rackets on the market at a same given time, so they have to discontinue some every year.

Sometimes, a racket will be discontinued because it's been replaced, sometimes just because it didn't sell enough. It's also the reason that the NS9900 is still alive, it is still too popular and pros still use it.

If they don't kill some rackets, well the catalog just gets bigger and bigger and retailers like myself have to carry hundreds of different rackets at the same time!

    Good point, WhiteLabel Racquets@Australia!
I'll see if StadiumSports will give me a good price soon.

BTW, maybe you can market some of the racquets designed by WhiteLabel Racquets@Australia as ARC 8DX similar!

Haha, interesting. generally that rule rules.
    However, there are exceptions.
What about ARC100? 10 times more popular than ARC 10?

Arc 100 is actually a repainted Arc 7. So... you know. :D
