It's another computer related question: this time, software. Anyway, I have a few digital photos, taken at high resolutions. How can I reduce them to low resolutions and post them up on BF? Thanks in advance.
Mac or PC? In either case, one answer is Adobe PhotoShop of course. Additionally, for both platforms, there are a number of shareware or freeware programs that can automate this for you.
you can try using Irfanviewer. It's a freeware viewer. You can open your picture and save_as with changes to the resolution to drop down the pic size. It also has a batch conversion that allows you to select multiple pics and batch convert (to other or same format).
MS Paint does nearest-neighbour image reduction. If you don't need anti-aliasing and just want a smaller image, the MS Paint will do it quick n easy.
Cheung, If you have XP there is a very good way of reducing the size of your photos: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp (called Image Resizer and on the right hand side) It's built into Windows so all you have to do is right-click and choose a resolution. Good luck! Mace
If you already have MS Office installed, there is this program called MS Photo Editor that comes with Office. It is found under MS Office Tools. Photo Editor actually has quite a few features with it, so it might be worth your while to check it out. -Rick
Be a real designer and get Photoshop, since it's easy to find in HK. What's even better about Photoshop, it can create a web picture gallery instantly for you - just set the location of the files and the location of where you want it to go and hey "presto".
If the full version of Photoshop is too expensive to swallow, a good suggestion is to get Photoshop Elements (current version is 2.0). It has most of the features of Photoshop, but is only about 1/6 of the cost. -Rick
