I don't quite understand how the notion points are calculated. Are they calculated differently for different event (and also depends on organiser too)?

In the Korea & MAS Open, when China mixed and match different players (eg. Bao YX/Tian Q[5], Zhang Nan/Tang JH[5], Shu Chen/Zhao YL[6], etc), some get seeded.

Whereas in this German GPG, Qiu ZH/Zhao YL and Zhang Nan/Tang JH and Shu Cheng/Zhao YL have to play in the qualification round. All these China players are quite high ranking with another partner in their doubles ranking. Shu Cheng/Zhao YL are seeded 6 in Korea PSS, and here in German GPG, they have to play in qualifier ???

    Anyone have the answer?

Its all up-to the organizer to decide what seeding a team can be given.
A new-team can be given seeding too, if the organizer feels that they are one of the best-in the tournament.
But the general rule is to go with the ranking-points, when it is available. But not always necessarily.

Not completely answering your question, but just my understanding. ;)

Already reply your question in another thread.

Btw, IMHO the entry of this GPG is not bad.

May be better if we separate the threads
    (my proposal)
    - from qualification to R2
    - QF to Final

    #could anyone translate this, hahaha

Who is Li Gen's partner, Liu Cheng? Is he any good?

This is kind of a sad sight for CBA, the best young and upcoming player they have is Li Gen?? Really?

    yep.

" Indonesians are playing very bad nowadays. It seems like nobody will get a title in coming tournaments. These are all due to the effects of many tournaments run by BWF. Hence, i want a complete change in the head governance of BWF. Please somebody help me to reach BWF so that i will struggle for indonesia till my last breath."

This is what you wrote. Am i right??:D;):p

    Just kidding.

    Here you go

For new pairs without any BWF ranking points, the notional ranking point is derived from the average of both players world ranking point.

Once the players start playing in the BFW tournament, their world ranking point will then be derived from the results from that tournament onwards and not the notional point anymore. This naturally means their points will be way lower than the notional because they just started playing their first tournament.

I have seen video of Li Gen. I know that he is not good, that's why I don't ask about him. His technique is bad, he is out of shape, he is slow, he is lazy, he has poor shot selection.

But I don't know much about Liu Cheng. Is he the front or back-court player? How old is he?
