I'd like to see what you have to say. What string and what tesion for your Arcsaber 10? And how do you feel about it? Thanks.
when i first got the arc10 2u when it first came out, i had it strung with nbg95 at 22lbs. it felt dead compared to the other rackets strung with the same string at the same tension. a few years later, i bought another arc10 but 3u, with the same string at 24lbs, same crappy feeling. what i would like to do when i have time is to finally restring the arc10 3u with my fave string, victor vs850 and see if it actually makes a difference.
Just restrung my Arc10 Premium with BG80 @ 29-31lbs (2 knots stringing) two days ago and tried a couple of shots during the exercise last night. Felt slightly better compared to the previous BG66 @ 26lbs, a bit more repulsive, easier to control and more feedback during impact. I'm trying to increase the string tension by 2-3lbs from my current "standard" of 25/26lbs which I've been applying on my rackets with BG66 and AP62 for the last 3-4 years.
Thanks quixilver! Please tell us more after some more games with BG80@29-31. Looking forward to hearing from you.
What do you mean by normal? normal edition as opposed to premium 2012 or something else? What's the difficulty you meant? Is 26 above the recommended tension what you meant? Please be clear.
i string my ARC10 with BG66UM at 29 lbs on the mains and 31 lbs on the crosses. thats the best for me.
You don't think something like this has passed the revue in the five years since it's release yet? Unless you are collecting data for some scientific research I suggest you read some of the (dozens) old threads asking what string & tension to use in ARC10 ... [and you will get a dozen different answers on a dozen replies, after which the conclusion will be there is no single optimal combination as it will also depend on the user ]
i think that was the time when i first started getting serious about badminton but didn't know anything about the equipment. so i got the arc10 with nbg95 which was brand new back then. later on i decided to give it a try at 24 which is the tension i play with now but still felt crappy to me. but to be fair i didn't spend too much time with it and never played any games with it, just hitting around. i will take your suggestion and string it at maybe 25x26 when i have time and see if it improves the way it feels.
Played so many games on Saturday and last night, the BG80 @29x31 performed very well. I like the sound when I hit the shuttle right on the sweetspot and the way it bounces the shuttle instantly on every single shots. When I played on Saturday morning, the court was very quiet as there were only 3 out of 12 courts played so whenever I hit the shuttle hard, the sound was echoing all-around the hall and it took other player's attention for so many times Having said that, it is more tiring to play with and the sweetspot is shrinking considerably so I need to be very focus all the time to adjust the timing correctly. I think I need to get more exercise too since I can feel a bit pain around my elbow, wrist and shoulder. This age is taking its toll
tried 28x30 last time, racquet holds well.. on bg66um, but string and tension is really up to you, really buddy.. takes time to know whats best for you, so patience and money spending to find the right one is all part of the fun!
