I did the same to sound the string bed for both two apps. The frequency I got from CarlTune is almost twice than that from ClearTune. For example, if I got 1100 Hz from CarlTune, it is 550 Hz in ClearTune. I am wondering if it is the setting issue in ClearTune. I had tried to tweak ClearTune settings. However, it doesn't work..

Actually, I would prefer the frequency data to be collected right after stringing!
After all, we use the observed frequency of string bed to measure the theoretical string tension. It is well known that there will be significant drop in tension as well as in frequency right after a racquet is strung. As the theoretical tension is given (the pounds you string your racquet), the string bed frequency observed right after stringing should be very much close to the given tension. If frequency is reported after the tension reaches its plateau, one cannot be sure the right tension the current observed frequency corresponds to.
Ideally, I would like to see exactly the frequency data
collected right after stringing. For example, I can sort out the following table that relates different pounds to their frequency for BG80 (ideally for the same type of racquet).
The frequencies in the table best represent the corresponding theoretical tension in pounds. You can also calculate exact the amount of frequency that represents a pound (can vary at different tension).
In my opinion, it's player's job to monitor the string bed frequency after the racquet is strung. Thanks to the table, the player can now understand the current tension his or her racquet retains. If initially the racquet is strung with BG80 at 29 lbs and the frequency observed after a month is 1160 Hz, the player can see there are about 4-pound drop after stringing. If the player feels that the tension now is best for him at the current frequency, he also knows that his ideal tension for BG80 is 25 lbs. However, due to the significant drop in tension in the first several days after stringing, the player can only have his or her racquet strung at 27 or 29 pounds and wait for a period of time until the tension slowly lands to the plateau that is around 25 pounds.
If the goal is to measure tension with observed frequency, it would be better to measure the frequency right after stringing when the frequency best represents the given theoretical tension.
