Technically speaking, on paper, I agree... But never under estimate THA veteran, they were once All England runner up... although I have to agree Kido/Pia seems know how to handle the THA pairs from the head to head point. While Towi/Butet usually have problem with European pairs, like for example Fischer/Pederson...

While the top half of the draw seems to be for CHN XD to clash for the final seat... But, I'm really really hoping for the upset there...

I'm very interested to see how LCW's form will be in his match against Tien Minh Nguyen... Hope he returns to his usual best.

I'm surprised that Towi/Lily never met Mateusiak/Zieba before

Yes it wont be easy for them, but I believe they will advance

Kido/Pia are on the rise, but the problem is Pia has to play WD too, so she has to think about this

NTM always play his heart out, never say die attitude so LCW may have to work extra little bit

Yeah, I know. He's a very passionate player and I really like his fighting spirit; besides, he has beaten LCW once before.

My picks to watch or follow:

WS: Saina v WSX.... the new frontrunner v/s the Last Chinese Standing!

MD: 2Kim v Endo/Hayakawa promises some really good action!

WS: Lindaweni v Tine. Please, Tine, please win this one! Lindaweni will have other chances...

MS: Chen Jin v Jan O. Will Vulcan malfunction happen?

MS: Kashyap v Chen Long. Can the Indian reprise his last year's heroics?

XD: S/S v Markis/Pia. Be interesting to see which male implodes...

I love NTM, too. He plays with all his heart. He'll get just about anything back, but he's too predictable. Without harder hitting aggression and deception, he really can't beat the likes of LCW on a normal day. Best of luck to him! Chúc may mắn!

Indeed, usually we'll see more than 1 CHN player in last eight. Two underdogs here Eriko Hirose, Lindaweni Fanetri who will meet Sung Ji-hyun and Tine Baun respectively, can they spring upset tonight?

Entering quarterfinal round, some seeded players/pairs who still go on the scenario :

MS : Lee Chong Wei (1/MAS), Chen Long (2/CHN), Chen Jin (5/CHN), Nguyen Tien Minh (8/VIE)

WS : Saina Nehwal (2/IND), Juliane Schenk (4/GER), Sung Ji Hyun (5/KOR), Wang Shixian (6/CHN), Tine Baun (7/DEN), Ratchanok Intanon (8/THA)

    MD : Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa (4/JPN), Kim Ki Jung/Kim Sa Rang (6/KOR), Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan (7/CHN), Mohammad Ahsan/Bona Septano (8/INA)

    WD : Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang (1/CHN), Ma Jin/Tang Jinhua (5/CHN), Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna (6/JPN), Jung Kyung Eun/Kim Ha Na (7/KOR), Duanganong Aroonkesorn/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul (8/THA)

    XD : Xu Chen/Ma Jin (1/CHN), Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (2/INA), Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (5/CHN), Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam (6/THA), Muhammad Rijal/Debby Susanto (7/INA), Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Zieba (8/POL)
