All this talk about team China imploding and the rest of the world finally equalizing is a bit premature. China still is dominant overall in badminton. If this tournament shows one change it is that the incredible team consistency of team china can occasionally show a crack.

All in all, it is more fun IMO to cheer for individuals than countries, and to embrace unexpected results as refreshing.

Have a great QF day, gang! :-)

    Looking forward to:

    WSX vs Saina
Big clash between former AE champion Wang Shixian and Indian Saina Nehwal. WSX might be feeling more pressure as the last Chinese girl standing. Big opportunity for Saina to progress towards winning her biggest title yet and finally cement her status as top-elite player. She is the favourite for this match. Potential drama factor:medium

    Tine vs Lindaweni Fanetri
With her biggest rivals out and Grandma Tine looking in good physical form, one cannot deny that she has a legitimate chance of actually finishing her career with a dream victory and a 3rd AE title. But can she keep her emotions under control and the racket in her hands? Potential drama factor:high

    Mateusiak/Zieba vs Ahmad/Natsir
Well with the great form the Indonesians showed yesterday it's hard to see anything else than a 2 set win. But it should be an entertaining match between two charismatic and creative teams. Potential drama factor:low

Nice control by SN, moving WSX all over the court. Ends it with a tight net shot. 5-2
