I regular use goose feather. IMO they are more durable and in my area the price for duck feather and average goose is very close. But here in Europe the market for badminton isn't big. I spend a bit more money for good shuttles than buying the cheapest douzen.
It's hardly possible to made a clear rule of thumb and say brand X is the best for money. I played with bad goose feather and also with good duck feather.
If you buy one brand regular and the same shuttlecock, you will notice sometimes variations in quality.
Maybe someone from china can help.

A good rule of thumb is to try a selection of different brands before buying a large quantity. Find out what is the right shuttle for the hall (speed), players (what hey like), cost against durability (is it worth spending a little more money for shuttles that last longer?) . These factors can help you make an informed decision.
