    this is one of the training video that Victor uploaded to youtube. while "coach zhao" maybe an accomplished coach, some of the technique shown are a bit... well... different.

    his foot isn't tilted outwards and his "backhand grip" ... well...

    I think it's called something like "shitty technique"! ;)

    This is hillarious! Thanks for sharing.

    Hi net shots were nearly using a bevel grip (which would be ok), but his slow motion "still" shots do not show the same thing as some of his demonstrations. His backhand lift is hilarious.

    That foot positioning is the one that most coaches are told to coach kids NEVER to do, because it is a sure way to roll your ankle.

    I wonder if victor are happy to have their brand slapped all over this video...

    I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did!

    agreed. This backhand lift should be avoided if possible. Still, there are situations where it is justified but with proper footwork please.

    The girls footwork is okay.

    Don't think I would practice this. Grip is to tight, no space in palm, forearm too strain, swing kind of too big a follow through, too much projection, footing not light and foot position definitely prone to injury, which I have done but luckily I roll over.

    Maybe we are missing something.

    I wish this were the truth. I can't see what though. That foot position is dangerous. Virtually no player lands a lunge like that (there are a couple of exceptions). I am sure the lift is fine, but I still don't like the grip used - and there seems to be a considerable lack of deception...

    its right, backhand lifts are done with forehand grip.

    Some players do land like that but it is prone to rolling over and injuring as many point out.

    2 flaws I can detect (even as a low rank player);
    1 - If you place your foot like that, it is easy to injure your ankle
    2 - No need for such a long swing on a lift, hold racket as if you are about to play netdrop, then just slight wrist action for the lift.

    Watching and listening to that coach is awkward. Can't beleive Victor is letting such a thing talking for their product!
