It looks sexy in silver in photographs, not real life. But that's MY personal opinion. Black's more my taste.

from the samples at www.dpreview.com, the 5D has very very good performance at ISO 3200, better than 1D Mk2N at ISO 1600. This is probably because the 5D is a full frame camera (the pixels/photosites are further apart and so less electrical interference aka 'noise'). On the other hand, 1D Mk2N has 8.5 fps for catching all the stages of a jump smash

yes. unfortunately, 3fps is not very useful for badminton.

Unless if you have a great eyes and good lens. But i do agree 3fps is not enought to catch the whole movement.

to capture the whoe movement, even 5fps isn't quite enough. my sis lent me her 20D and i tried it last night. while 5fps almost guarantee 1 shot will be a hit, it won't be able to record the whole sequence.

while i was at the WC, i often stand next to those pro's with 8fps cameras. they are like machine guns. so fast, so envious, so expensive...

Yeah.. i really like that sound. Imagine if its a conventional film slr. It so loud. Thank god for digitals.

actually, they'd not sound that different. the loudest noise comes from the mirror flipping up which happens in both DSLR & SLRs.

they do sound differently kwun. slr should be a bit noiser. the motordrive causes noise when transporting film. especially in the old days with detachable motordrive like the one with canon f1 and nikon f3. however, i really love that sound! it's a symbol of pro!
i would say the most annoying sound come from a slr is rewinding. the old eos1 is notorious for it's rewinding noise!
mirror flipping is also one of the factor that causes noise but seems the damping feature is doing quite well recently in all dslr. it's no longer a problem now.

ah. thanks red00ecstrat for the correction. i was only basing on my limited knowledge with a couple of DSLRs and my old FM2.

i haven't been doing much badminton photo taking recently. but instead spent my time on taking baby pics..

I should attend a similar event tomorrow. Do you have any tips concerning placement, shooting angles, etc. so that I can improve myself ? Thanks.
