One of the most inspiring quotes I've ever read from badminton people is this by Erland Kops on his secret of success (concentration on the game). " When I am playing badminton there are only two people in the world, myself and my opponent".
By Eminem: Look... if you had... one shot... or one opportunity... to seize everything you ever wanted... in one moment... would you capture it? Or just let it slip? Those are the most important words I hold to right now. The second one, by Zhang Ailing herself: If you want to win, your mind must say "I can win!" If in your mind, you don't win, then you won't win.
"Look after yourselvs and each other" By the great Gerry Springer, somehow the world would be a better place if we did!!
topic didnt say it had to come from a baddy player but... wouldnt u be surprised if he does play badminton
GZC: The game isn't over til the board says 15 i find it hard to adhere to this though... especially when down 14-1... =(
Quote from George Bush: "If you are not on my side, you are my enemy". He must be playing badminton when he said that.
in one game, i was doing very badly near the end when the score was 1-14. I managed to turn the game around to 12-14 before losing. Anything's possible!
i don't know who said this but i like this one "it's not whether you win or lose, it's whether i win"
i have a similar experience... i was once forced to play singles right after doing 260 push ups in a row.... needless to say, i couldn't feel my arms..... i was losing 1-14 when i finally had some feeling in them.... caught up to 11-14... and then saw my drop shot hit the tape, and then land on my side... >.< cheung: hehehe, plagiarism on my part i guesss..... cept i'm giving the credit to her... lol...
i think there was actually a thread on this a while ago, meh. well my quote would have to be "It's not whether you get knocked down. It's whether you get up again." just because i mean anybody can get knocked down and give up but if you get back up again thats what counts cause it shows that your not weak and dont give up easily and that your determened to suceed, etc. its a very common quote though...
came accross this in one of the comp tech forum... "If you can keep your head whilst those around lose theirs, you clearly don't understand how much Sh*t you are in." Hilarious...but so true when one is dealing with Win XP
YOU CAN DO 260 PUSH UPS IN A ROW?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!! HOLY CRAP DUDE "Second place is first place loser" - Tiger Woods
I've got a t-shirt with this on. Two of my favourite quotes I saw recently (both anonymous) are: 1. My wife knows just how to motivate me. She'll say, "Do you want to do the dishes tonight, dear, or would you rather have a live weasel stapled to your thigh? 2. When a man marries a woman they become one, but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.
Summing up his drive and motivation lance armstrong once said: "when I had cancer I didnt want to die, when I ride I dont want to lose. Dying and losing, to me it is the same thing"
"Q: What is the most important in Badminton? A: Confidence." (Sun Jun, Badmintoncentral - Article - Professional Players - Sun Jun´s online chatting record)
" dark is the night, i can weather the storm.. never say die.. i've been down this road before.. i'll never quit.. i'll never lay down.. see i've promised myself that i'd never let me down.. so i'll never give up.. never give in.. never let a ray of doubt slip in.. and if i fall.. i'll never fail.. i'll just get up and try again.. never lose hope.. never lose faith.. there's much too much at stake.. upon myself i must depend.. i'm not looking for a place for show.. i'm gonna win.. no stopping now.. there are still ways to go.. someway, somehow.. whatever it takes i'll know.. i'll never quit.. i'll never go down.. i'll make sure they remember my name.. a hundred years from now.. " Part from Brian McKnight's song 'Win'.. haha.. the song is slow.. but has a good meaning behind it.. its from the movie Men of Honor.. its got Cuba Gooding Jnr.. i reckon its a pretty good movie.. quite moving.. being an african american nval officer, his character actually gets pushed around alot by his peers.. the seniors don't want to see him succeed.. so they 'rig' his tests and equipment and stuff.. dispite this.. he pushes himself to succeed.. pretty good movie.. actually based on a true story..
