With BG80 I've found that 23 lbs. works well but 24-25 lbs. I start having trouble doing anything with it, playing with a piece of cardboard pretty much. But 25-27 lbs. I can start doing some damage to the opponent's defense. >27 is just too much for me to flex the stringbed to generate any power.

Could this have something to do with the resonance of the strings? Strings will vibrate at different tensions and the amplitude will depend on how hard I can hit. That being said, is it possible that my strength just doesn't go well with certain tensions? But then at a higher tension I can suddenly tap back into the power within a high-tensioned stringbed?

    Thanks for any replies! =)
