Hello badminton lovers, this is my first thread btw :p

I'm making this thread after checking current rankings over http://bwfbadminton.org/page.aspx?id=14955

There's one thing that caught my attention after looking at current XD ranking as you can see below :)

First thing first, we all know that CHN pairs, XU/MA and ZHANG/ZHANG are known as the best XD pairs and feared by other pairs from other countries. We still remembered how these two pairs dominated XD for years(even they still do until now) and taking the top two spot of the world ranking, which is only now TOWI/BUTET are able to steal and hold on the second spot.

But if you look closely at the ranking, there are only 2 CHN pairs in Top 25 of the ranking. Yes, only 2 from 25 pairs!! CHN players are agruably almost dominating all current rankings, but they got only 2 pairs in XD. Isn't it interesting? What happen to the other CHN XD pairs  There must be more but none of them are inside Top 25.

Meanwhile, INA pairs are dominating XD ranking where there are 6(SIX) pairs inside Top 25!! Yep, six pairs, guys. Even myself as an Indonesian never really noticed that before. TOWI/BUTET are the best from INA for now where they are twice winner of ALL ENGLAND in a row, and the other 3 pairs are stealing the spotlights with some awesome winnings over other top pairs in the ranking.

For other countries pairs, MATEUSIAK/ZIEBA from POL have been holding their own inside Top 10 for quite some time. Players from Europe continent are usually dominated by DEN, GER, and ENG players. POL is almost unknown except for this XD pair, so, credit to them for POL sole representation :D

The rest of the spots in the ranking are taken by other countries relatively quite even. Here it is the complete grouping based by countries :

Eventhough INA players are dominating, but on court, it's CHN pairs who took almost all the big cakes, including last Olympic 2012. We all know that CHN has very good players regeneration programs under Li Yong Bo as head coach, which is why CHN is so overwhelming in Badminton sport. But looks like XD sector doesn't have that much attention as other sectors, or maybe not

INA has done a great job with their XD pairs. One thing is they need to be more consistent on court. TOWI/BUTET won AE2013 title with fashion, but they lost on the next tournament after it. This show how inconsistent they are. But I do hope they can keep it up for the next big tournaments like World Championships, Indonesia Super Series Premiere, and hopefully, Olympic 2016(maybe it's too much for Olympic for NATSIR as she is not young anymore by 2016, but who know :D).

Yup, that's my 2cent about current XD ranking. What do you think, folks?

Eh? Why? Any specific reason? Or you are just purely a fan of Japanese players? :D
