1. does everyone in japan own a ES5Pro? i see so many Japanese video with ES5Pro's! 2. seems that the sausage bun knot is rather popular there. 3. they weave one ahead.
He mentioned 10% (even though he went slightly above) when doing the crosses. I agree...seems everyone has an ES5 Pro...maybe in a year or two they'll all have Protech 8s...i'm sure there is a nice aftermarket for all these ES5Pros. First Dibs!!!
That knot looks pretty nice, anyone have a link to a video of how to do it? Googled for "sausage bun knot" without any success. Doubt ill switch from kwuns "no tension loss"-knot but always fun to learn new things
Heh - "starting clamp" is "starting clamp" in Japanese. I wish I'd videoed the time I had a go of the ES5... not that many on Youtube.
i have used the ES5Pro/Protech a few times. definitely a nice machine but i am not sure if it is nice enough for me to pay $7000 for it.
I've used pretty much every machine there is, and found the ES5 to be my favourite (and this includes more expensive ones) - I'd buy one just for personal use if I had that kind of money. Reminds me - I need a go of a PT8 at some point...
seen that ES5 quite offen, especially at t'ments. wonder if one can hire one for a day. well, if you like sportcars you can hire a ferrari or lamborghini for a day. why not our poor stringers still on a drop weight or cranks get our hands on one?
not saying it is not a nice machine. it is. but it is also a very expensive machine. just have to befriend some shop who has one and let you play with it.
Nice way to reduce tension loss at the knots - this method is very effective even without the use of the awl. The stringer was too careful and didn't use the piler to tighten each loop of the knot.
