Hi all Im searching a new racket. Last month i played quite bad... didnt get power out of my Meteor x80 3u (87g) bg66@24/25lbs. ( drops, net play and placement were fine). I mostly play singles(70-80%) ... would say intermediate standard. So I decided to test some rackets.... voltric 80, vzf, nanoray 800 / 700, bravesword 12, n55I, n80.... so a lot (yonex/victor all 4u @ ~22 lbs) Now playtime... focused on rear court... smash ,clear, drop and again smash .... wanted to find a racket with more power than the meteor. Funny thing... a 4u nanoray800 gave the most power for me ... I dont know why.... Power: nanoray800>= voltric80 > bs 12 > vzf >n80>>> my meteor x80... clear/drop... quite good with all rackets. I know that my smashes with the meteor werent sooo strong ( but good placement). I didnt think that i would get more power out of a headlight 4u nanoray but also with the headheavy/ stiff voltric 80. So.. what could be the problem? weight ? tension? Balance? Stiffness?? I can test the rackets (and maybe an arcsaber 11) in two weeks again... but I dont understand why i can play better with all this rackets? And how to play singles with a 4u headlight racket Its a silly post... its late... and Im just... a bit mad and confused. so... recommendation? thanks! Brale
think you can see and feel it.... tested the rackets with 2 friends... we practice 3 times a week together. They also said that I got more power from all of these rackets.
From my personal experience, strings make the biggest difference in term of the feel and power of the smashes. Why not try some other 2nd tier or 3rd tier rackets and see if you get the same results.
arcsaber i-slash and oliver eplon 9 didnt give me more power. But i will test some other 2nd tier rackets in two weeks. Thanks for advice. Maybe i also should try restringing my meteor with bg 66 @ 22lbs... But 3 or 4 months ago i got my meteor @28 lbs and got more power than with 25lbs. Still not more power than with the rest rackets.
Agree, likely the MX80 is too stiff for you. Also it looks like you can swing your racket very fast. That's why you have more power with the Nanoray 800. You can try the 3u version for more power or the Nanospeed 9900.

Wait for the MX90 ? A little less stiff than MX80 and slightly head heavy. Should get you more power than your MX80.
The MX JJS was supposed to be the MX90, but since they released it under JJS's name, they can still release a MX90. I think it'll be released in time for the next badminton season, so this summer/september maybe.
Well, I had a 3U MX80 as well and couldn´t handle it (arm, shoulder got tired soon and some pain) while the 4U version was/is no problem. Some time ago I had the feeling i need another more flex racket to have some variation. Now I love to play with the BS-LYD 3U the most, my smashes got better. BUT changing a racket can only help a bit, we have to work on ourselves to improve. Atm I have different rackets (mx80, mx60 4u, bs-12, bs-lyd 3u) and sometimes have to think with which I play. So try to have max. 3 different rackets and one main racket which seems to get the bs-lyd. Feels very sharp at the net area, but i get way more power from the back compared with improved technique than with the mx80.
I haven't even heard of half these racket you guys are mentioning. I remember when it was Yonex or bust, o the simple days. I'm curious, do you buy your rackets locally or internationally?
These are all well known Victor rackets. I'm a retailer, so I buy my rackets from the local distributors.
In the Victor chart, the Artec Ti99 would also qualify, but there are few reviews of it, it is low profile. Tai Tzu Ying is using it though
It depends on the person. I use my hole arm to generate power, so I need rackets with some weight on the head. My sister for instance can generate more power with lighjt rackets. She use Nanoray 700. I can generate more power with the Nanospeed 9900 than the Nanaray 800. If you can generate power with light rackets Nanospeed and Nanoray would be a good choice. Voltric is more head heavy racket. Arc11 is even-balanced. If you want to try those, the Arc11 would be closer to the head-light rackets like de Nano-series.
