yup. exactly that, a lip that runs along the length of the strip and a channel along the top of the racket, they are matching shape and holds the strip in place pretty securely. the concept of the mechanism is not complicated, but the engineering and implementation is quite well executed.

I don't know why anyone would be skeptical that a million dollar company would be unable to design and implement a simple clip-on strip.

    It's a clip...on.....strip. Not a rocket. Not a nuclear reactor. A clip. On. Strip.

I'll be excited when they have piezo-electric materials in the shaft powered by batteries in the handle that allow you to dial-in the stiffness.

If all the strings were on pulleys, then yeah, you could make tension fully adjustable.

I often wonder just how many of the strings actually do anything. It would be a good University paper.

    Default flying strips??

they should have extended the clip around the top of the frame so that the strip does not come off and injure opponents eyes. maybe going forward badminton players will have to wear glasses like in squash to prevent eye injury because of flying strips...!

From my discussions with Adidas, the Switch will not be introduced with the reason given that they were not confident enough in the design of the strip. I think it was more a case of evaluating the material rather than the actual fixing system itself.
