    Hi people,

I'm new to LA and I'd really like to know where I could play badminton. I'm also looking for a partner to practise with... any help would be greatly appreciated.

    John,

Which part of LA are you in? What is your level of play, casual, competitive? There are several places that you can play. Personally, the best place to play would be:

Mar Vista Rec Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-10pm, Cost: $3 but they provide you with all the feather shuttles that you need and there are players of all levels there. Please note that they are closed this week and will reopen on Monday, November 24th.

Los Angeles Valley College, Tuesday and Fridays from 7-10pm Cost $2, bring your own birds.

Los Angeles Pierce College, Saturdays from 6-10pm, cost $2 or $3, bring your own birds.

Santa Monica City College, Sundays from 9am - 8pm, cost $4 or $2 with student id, bring your own birds.

Westchester recreation center, Wednesdays from 8-10pm, cost $2, all the feather birds you want are provided.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions, you can email or pm me.

    Hi Wickeddrop,

I'm in Burbank and wouldn't mind driving up to 20min just to play... Thanks for the locations and details, I really appreciate it.

From a scale of 1 - 10, I'm probably between 6 to 7. The last time I played was for my Highschool team... and that was 8 years ago.

    Again, thanks for your help.

Are you in the LA area? What's your email?

    my email is spectramr2@Yahoo.com

I would show up next monday at Mar Vista to play if I were you, there are 3 courts there but it is by far in my opinion, the best surface to play on. Its an indoor basketball gym but the surface is real nice. Whats your name by the way?

Hi John, since you live in Burbank, you can play at Burbank College. I don't know exactly what day they play there, but, you can call the college and find out.

You can play at glendale city college every monday @ 7pm. They will resume on the 8th of Jan. due to the holiday's. The people are pretty friendly and the skill level varies. Cost is 3 dollars or 20 dollar for every 2 or 3 months(I think).

Hey...Dont worry about not knowing anyone. The guy that runs it there is very friendly and he will set you up accordingly with the correct skill level. You can get in some competitive or recreational games, whichever you wish! Plus, you get the benefit of it being cool indoors and not too hot during the summer time as well.
