All the final matches went to the rubber, except for the one - which almost did!

It's good to see Praveen Jordan/Vita Marissa lifting their 2nd consecutive title, right after the New Zealand Open GP. This time, they managed to win the Malaysia Open GP Gold.

Their next target will surely be winning a SS title!

3 titles for Team INA (all independent players) and I am very very satisfied this week

Congrats for INA shuttlers to bring 3 titles here also 2 winners remains as well
All final matches were finished by 3 games except MD that quite surprising, Goh/Lim defeated their senior Koo/Tan.

Ah Koo and Ah Tan were just a washout and they couldn't even outplay the backup players GVS/LKW whose style of play they know so well due to their constant sparring in training. They would fare even worse against non-Malaysian players and this has been shown time and time again in their recent defeats.
PV Sindhu was lucky to come through in her clash against Gu Juan as she was trailing most of the time in the rubber until she squared at 16 all. The next 2 points were a ding-dong until Sindhu surged after 18 all and went on to win. Being tall, PV Sindhu has to strengthen her legs if she is to get on top of the Chinese players just as Chen Long did to the dismay of LCW.
Goh Soon Huat was in a similar situation like PV Sindhu in the rubber and he just couldn't close with a bang and allowed Alamsyah Yunus to win. Hendrawan has to do more for his charges to make them world beaters.

Koo and Tan's fitness had nosedived badly .... until that is rectified, no amount of talent or smashing power could help.

Gu Juan should actually blame herself for not closing out the match. Credit to Sindhu for showing character to fight till the last drop of sweat. Gu was too tense to think of the next rally properly.

Goh Soon Huat did not have the experience to finish off his opponent. Alamsyah's mental makeup was very good, reminded me of how Liem Swie King turned the tables on Misbun Sidek in 1982, while being 1-10 down in the rubber.
