Out of form
I don't think Peter Gade and Wong Choon Hann are readlly that superior in MS compare to the Chinese counterpart, rather those easy victory over Taufik is just the sign of the wonder boy is going down hill. Taufik better put his act together or else he may not even qualify for Olympic.

Wong Choon Han gave Taufik a trashin by winning 15-4 15-6. next game is our JR/LARS vs Kim/Yim. I think this match our JR have the upperhand.

A few remarks about yesterday's events:
I watched parts of the match between Gade and Taufik, and Gade looked really strong. On the other hand, there was no real competition, yesteday he was a class above Taufik. Taufik looked really slow and careless.
JR and Lars played so-so against Yim/Kim. Overall, it wasn't a great match, both sides made a lot of sloppy mistakes, the Koreans only a bit more so than the Danes... But the Danes were controlling the match pretty much all along. It was notable that they served high to the Koreans probably like 50% of the time. They just didn't have the power to hammer it down, whereas Jonas and Lars are -- as always -- EVIL in the defense...
I saw that they also beat the Brits today, as expected.
Jonassen also looked sharp. Very much in control, quick around court. Wasn't at all impressed by the opposition. It's not obvious who will meet in the finals...
The big surprise was Tine Rasmussen's big win over Pi. That I would never have guessed. She's been injury-free now for some time, so perhaps she will finally prove her talent.
Tomorrow are the finals... And I'm going to be there! I'll write up a short report, but unfortunately I won't be able to do that until I get back home... I suppose it'll be JR/Lars vs Candra/Halim in the MD final. A dream final for me...

1st game it was close with peter leading the game early , but wong manage to catch up until the score was like 14-8.. then peter played more attacking until the score 14-13. Wong end the game at 15-13.
2nd set , wong leading earli... close fight 5-5 then wong breakaway until 12-6. Then peter try his comeback again until 14-11.. 12-14 and wong wrap up 15-12.

Wong is the man
Regardless who Wong is meeting in the final, I think it's a done deal, Wong will the the Mater title. The anticipation should be on MD between Halim/Wijaya vs Rasmussen/Paskee.

Wong Choon Han will face Kenneth Jonassen in the finals
While Camilla will face Xie Xingfang for womens singles
Lars/JR will face halim/chandra.
Wong will be the champion for mens and Camilla will most likely win this tourney.
Exciting part will be the doubles.

Exciting Finals
Man, it's going to be good watching the finals...I'm so jealous of the lucky folks who can go watch the matches.
Predictions:
MS: Wong
LS: Xie
MD: It's a toss-up and probably will be the match of the day!

We have 1 star open
Watching live event is so much more fun then the delay version. I recall watching the GP1999 while visiting Malaysia many years ago on TV. Man, it was electrifying ... Well, in US, we still have the 1-2 star US Open yearly, I missed the 1996/1997 5-star US Open with Dong Jiong, Poul Erik Larsen, Peter Gade, Joko Suprianto, Rashid Sidek, Fung Permadi, Cheah/Yap, Sigit/Wijaya, ...
Now with 1-star US Open, we have ... ???
At least I have the delay video :-)

worldbadminton.net reports that Pi HongYan was injured, she had a bad fall while walking on the icy streets of Copenhagen.Originally posted by Mag

I think the match would not be one sided if Pi had not been injured.
The final would definately be an interesting one, looking forward to it.

the live scoring seems to be blocked at 3-4 in the second set!
does anyone know the reason for this?? (injury or whatever? ... or just a technical problem with the site?)

Wong too strong for Kenneth this time around.
I wonder why he fared so badly in Vietnam against Sony Dwi Kuncoro? Fatigue? Needed time off? Pressure?
