Please share your own impressions and experiences with Whey Protein.

As is customary, I'm kicking things off
    ... on a ... lighter note ...

    Whey Over Yonder
(to be sung to the tune of – obviously! – the timeless classic from Carole King)

Whey over yonder is a drink I have known
Where my body’s sheltered, and it ain’t over-blown
And the sweet-tasting chocolate is so easily downed
Whey over yonder, that’s what I’ve found.

I know, when I get some, the first thing I’ll see
Is the sun shining golden, on the milk there for me
And fatigue’s gonna lose me, pain leave me behind
And I’ll stand up proudly, my strength I will find

    Talkin’ bout-a, a-talking bout-a

Whey over yonder, is a supplement sold
In a garden of iron, muscles rippling and bold
    Oh-oh oh-oh….

Maybe tomorrow, I’ll find my whey
In a glass where the honey runs with multi-vitamin each day
And the sweet tasting chocolate is so easily drowned
Whey over yonder, that’s what I’ve found

Whey over yonder, that’s what I’ve found.

    I drink 1 or 2 Whey shakes a day.

    1) The eggwhites help supressing the hunger feeling. (Helpfull since I am trying to lose weight)
    2) It helps building muscles and helps with recovery after exercise

Especially for people who are trying to lose some fat and/or build up more muscle; Gotta try Whey shakes!

Beware though that Protein shakes can cause weightgain if you are not excersising properly. Do not substitute it as a dietry aid and cut out other foods. In moderation and used in conjunction with an active excersise program it is very beneficial for muscle repair and muscle building.

I have used protein shakes for the past 4 -5 Months at gym whilst returning to training and reconditioniing my body. Now that I am focusing more on badminton again and less on hard gym training I will be lessening the intake with these shakes but still keeping them up.

Started using whey protein about six months ago just a shake after a session. Instead of feeling like I had been in a bad car crash the day after, I feel ok. It works for me for recovery very well basically.

Eating a lot of protein (chicken, turkey) can replace protein powders, but it might also give you more calories than what you want.

For recovery, whey right after the session is great. Casein before bedtime is also good for recovery. There's also those intra workouts shakes that have bcaa that some might like but I am not a user, so I can't comment on the effectiveness.
