    That's....just amazing.
Too bad there isn't a camera shot on the retriever, he probably was shaking his head.

i think we can imagine some of what's going through Jonas' head at that moment, but nice to hear from Jonas' mouth, Jonas?

i guess one lesson that we should bring home is:

"the rally is not over until the shuttle touches the ground"

that was a great shot and respond! What a dance! We should see all these antics more often. Make the game more exciting and fun.

What a dive!!! , it even puts Peter Schmeichel dive to shame !!!!

This is the most amazing dive, i ever seen !!!! it beats hands down any dive of even the great Peter Schmeichel .

Maybe JR could have been a great goalkeeper if he was not into badminton :D

If the opponent had more experience, he will execute an attacking clear instead of smashing since Jonas already on the floor . Sometimes, smash is not so appropriate :D

The opponents appear to be Malaysian, at a guess Choong Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah...so hardly inexperienced.

It is usual to smash at someone who has fallen/slipped as it usually wins the rally or produces a weak reply to kill, but I think Jonas surprised his opponents with his dive and subsequent speed of reactions. The opposing player at the front could have cut out the drive lift but their concentration was disturbed...or in the case of the Choong Tan Fook, Lee Wan Wah, concentration is not one of their strong points.

it's depends on each person style. If i were that malaysian player, i would had DONE THE SAME THING, smashing into the messed up zone, hoping for a weak or poor return for the final kill by my partner. It's about working on the percentage. U forgot lar is standing near the middle court, he can take any clearing shots like a single player would do. You are too concern about JR's position and forgot about Lar's readied position. In MD, it goes without saying u have to consider your partner and both of your opponents:rolleyes:

My second alternative is to smash into Lar's extreme right hand side of the court but the percentage for a sure 2nd kill isnt as high as the above tactic.

i agree with cooler, i would've smash to the same place. however, i would also have put more effort in chasing the returned birdie. Choong was barely a foot from the birdie when it landed. JR dived, he could've too... :)
