    Default The SBA Corporate League

Thanks Bobby for the lovely pictures. It's nice to see a number of the "retired" players in action, like Ronald and Yujia, and also the younger players making an impact. Of course not forgetting our foreign visitors from Indonesia and Malaysia.

Thanks also for notifying us on the dates of the rest of the competitions. This is helpful for badminton fans who may be interested. I don't suppose the SBA website is ready to provide more information on this new event. Therefore for the benefit of BC members maybe you can supply the names of the different corporate teams and their players and perhaps line-ups for the rest of the competition.

You have mentioned the following names:

    Crescendas
    Jumbo
    Fuji Xerox
Koh Bros (I saw some familiar faces out of the 11 you posted)

    and the following dates:

Semi Finals - May 22 (Wed) am
Finals - May 23 (Thu) am

Hope I'm not asking for too much as I noticed that you worked "overtime" till the early morning hours to deliver your post.

BTW, congratulations to SBA for its untiring efforts in bringing up Singapore's badminton image. And also to Gu Juan for making an impact at the recent Malaysia Open GPG. I think she did Singapore proud with her scintillating display against the higher ranked Sindhu (IND) in the finals although she lost narrowly . She showed great sportsmanship and I hope she will finally win an international soon.

And I hope the rest of the Singapore contingent, especially the men players, will work harder to deliver more joy to Singapore badminton fans.

Sorry, I assumed it to be in May, but it should be in June as indicated by Bobby. Thanks for pointing it out.

Oh I presume it will be free but the competitions are held in the mornings, a bit inconvenient for those who are working full-time.

wouldn't this clash with the Li-Ning Open (18-23 June)?.............scheduling is out of whack, imo.

I'm sorry again. I saw the wrong month of May again. Since it will be held in June,
    the correct days are:

    June 22 (Sat) and
    June 23 (Sun)

and they coincide with the semifinals and finals of the Singapore Open - an added bonus for those who bought tickets!

My ticket shows the following details:

    1. QF.RD, 18/06/13 (TUE) - 09.00 AM
    2. PREM.R1, 19/06/13 (WED) - 09.00 AM
    3. PREM.R2, 20/06/13 (THU) - 02.00 PM
    4. Q-FINALS, 21/06/13 (FRI) - 03.00 PM
    5. SEMI-FINALS, 22/06/13 (SAT) - 02.00 PM
    6. FINALS, 23/06/13 (SUN) - 01.00 PM

I suppose the SBA Corporate League will be played first on both Sat and Sun to generate greater interest before the main event. So no disruption. Maybe fans can get closer to the players and obtain their signatures.

    Hi,

The dates for the semis and finals are 22 June and 23 June respectively at the Indoor Stadium. It will be held in the morning, while the Li Ning Singapore Open 2013 semis and finals are in the respective afternoons.

We are still trying to setup the SBA website...will get there.

Meanwhile, please continue to support the LNSO 2013 as we need the funding to keep the sport going.

    Thank you.

So far, we did not open the semis and finals of the corporate league to the public. The use of the Indoor Stadium is to attract corporations of the unique experience to play at this venue versus the usual SSC halls.

You'd have to speak to the company then. Not SBA

But avoid mentioning "junk share" to get more complimentary tickets.

Come watch Koh Bros at their next group stage match on 1 June. They need to win by a big margin to get into the semi-finals.
