Hi Bobby, Thanks for the lovely pics. Sorry I missed the event as not much publicity has been given in advance, even in these BC columns, unless I missed them. Will there be more matches? Further details?
Yes, Day 3 of the Corporate League will be on 1 June, 2pm at the SBH. Koh Bros vs Sunlight/SBH Jumbo vs AF Holdings
Markis Kido with Danny Chrisnanta playing against Malaysians world No.16 in exhibition match. View attachment 141937
Semifinals and finals will be played on the mornings of 22 and 23 June at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The SBA Corporate League Thanks Bobby for the lovely pictures. It's nice to see a number of the "retired" players in action, like Ronald and Yujia, and also the younger players making an impact. Of course not forgetting our foreign visitors from Indonesia and Malaysia. Thanks also for notifying us on the dates of the rest of the competitions. This is helpful for badminton fans who may be interested. I don't suppose the SBA website is ready to provide more information on this new event. Therefore for the benefit of BC members maybe you can supply the names of the different corporate teams and their players and perhaps line-ups for the rest of the competition. You have mentioned the following names: Crescendas Jumbo Fuji Xerox Koh Bros (I saw some familiar faces out of the 11 you posted) and the following dates: Semi Finals - May 22 (Wed) am Finals - May 23 (Thu) am Hope I'm not asking for too much as I noticed that you worked "overtime" till the early morning hours to deliver your post. BTW, congratulations to SBA for its untiring efforts in bringing up Singapore's badminton image. And also to Gu Juan for making an impact at the recent Malaysia Open GPG. I think she did Singapore proud with her scintillating display against the higher ranked Sindhu (IND) in the finals although she lost narrowly . She showed great sportsmanship and I hope she will finally win an international soon. And I hope the rest of the Singapore contingent, especially the men players, will work harder to deliver more joy to Singapore badminton fans.
hi, thanks for posting, which dates are correct? is entry to view free?.......not much publicity........SBA need to publicise it more........missed seeing Kido live in action..........
Sorry, I assumed it to be in May, but it should be in June as indicated by Bobby. Thanks for pointing it out. Oh I presume it will be free but the competitions are held in the mornings, a bit inconvenient for those who are working full-time.
