Recently, my hand suddenly started aching and hurting during and after play. However, it stops hurting a few days after I play but hurts again when I play again. Does anyone have any ideas on why this happened? I think I may be gripping the racket too hard.
possibly gripping too hard... next time you play pay attention to loosen your grip at all times except when at the moment of strike
May be using wrist power in nodding direction rather than waving direction. Or cock the wrist too much.
As Visor said, this could be caused by holding the racket too tightly. My guess would be that your grip is too small.
All your REPLYS are disregarding the fact that this member needs to see a doctor before he can resume playing.
Lol... If OP mentions to the doctor as he stated in the OP, I have a feeling the doctor will just tell him to stop playing.
If it is what the doctor order, I guess that the way it is. Plus what is the benefit of playing hurt?
iono... just a wild guess... maybe perhaps op states he gets the pain when he plays, and gets better when he doesn't... and since he's asking this question in a badminton forum, what else would we discuss about?
I already made that point six years ago. It's sitting there in full view in a sticky at the top of this forum. With that advice taken as read, we can still give some other suggestions too.
Safety is everyone number 1 concern, we can never be too careful. We can never assume anything because people can read and write, just like police will read your right before arresting someone every time. If your kid saying he or she is feeling hurt while playing any kind of sport, will a parent or teacher tells them to relax or stop or seeking medical advice. Be prudent, badminton is only a game after all. We can be passionate about badminton but everything has a limit. If some questions are not badminton related, ie, medical or legal matter, we should not force them into the badminton context. If this member comes back clean after consulting his doctor and asking the same question again, then we shall be very please voice our opinion. If anyone can determine this member pain is badminton related, then he or she is medical and badminton professional, a fee should be charged to this member, then a relationship is formed. This forum shall get a portion of this proceed. Thanks for reading this far.
