    Default Sudirman Cup - Day 3 (21 May 2013)

    We start off with 2 Level 1 top of the table clashes .......

    China vs Indonesia, where whichever team wins, doesn't really matter ......

    ...... and Denmark vs Japan, where the gloves will come off in a desperate attempt to get away from China's path in the quarterfinal stage.

    I expect a very long drawn tie between these two powerhouses. XD is Danish for the taking, WS is for Japan, the rest of the 3 matches are all to play for.

    i think JPN will likely lose 2-3.

    XD -> DEN
    MS -> JPN
    MD -> DEN
    WS -> JPN
    WD -> DEN

    I think WD is 50/50

    Remember Pedersen/Juhl just lost to Maeda/Suetsuna in India? I think Matsutomo/Takahashi are a little better than Maeda/Suetsuna.

    Against Maeda and Suetsuna, Pedersen/Juhl would have trouble breaking their defences because Maeda/Suetsuna's play is based on almost total defence with clears to the baseline to keep the rally going (like Razif/Jalani Sidek in MD in the 80s).

    But Matsutomo/Takahashi are not set up similarly - because they are not as good at long term defence, they try to take more initiative to change the rally. How well they hold the first Danish barrage will be key, because they have an inferior record to the Danes.

    Agree, MS is the key factor for both teams. DEN has advantage in XD and MD while JPN will bank on WS & WD.

    Dude!

    JOJ seems to be able to raise his game for the big occasion. I also think he has the measure of Tago

    DEN-JPN will be stream on BWF Youtube.
    If someone can share the CHN-INA stream, that will be great

    Now I just have to resize my browser to watch the stream at work since my manager is quite active walking around today
