So I've been stringing racquets for awhile now and I was wondering how you guys got your businesses. I only string for a friend or two but it seems like you guys get a lot of racquets to string. I tried posting on online sites such as craigslist to promote my service.
Play in a club. Do a good job. Let people know you do stringing. If you do a decent job of stringing at a decent price, you should be able to pick up some work.
Word of mouth is everything in a service-oriented business. It takes just a couple of happy customers in a few clubs and then the referrals will start coming.
i have found craigslist to be lukewarm. more useful to meet new badminton people than to find new clients to be honest. best is to start with you group of badminton friends. usually if you have a circle of around a couple of dozen it is enough to keep yourself busy.
I've seen people even advertise their services via ebay (not me!) and they seem to have made quite a bit from it considering all the feedbacks left http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_t...C0&_nkw=badminton+restring&_sacat=0&_from=R40
play often and join a few clubs. like me, As long as the stringer does his job and most importantly, convenient to me. letting the stringer have my racquet for a week till I meet him again, is ok for me.
It takes time for ppl to know about your service. Also, it takes tons of good jobs to build the reputation, but it only takes a few poor ones to kill it.
