Silly enough this record is nowhere to be found on the guiness record website
    seems legit though

not the highest velocity achieved during the phase of video capture?
the shuttle decelerates from negative velocity to zero upon contact with the string bed and starts accelerating upon leaving the string bed from zero.

air resistance counteracts the acceleration and thus slows down the velocity and through out the flight, there will be a point/moment where the speed's the fastest.

I did have two (before I went over 30 lb, that is).

My understanding is that the shuttle only accelerates while it is still in contact with the strings during the time the string bed and the cork of the shuttle rebounds back to it's original state.

The shuttle doesn't accelerate after leaving the string bed as there is no accelerating force (Newton's 1st & 2nd law of motion). The shuttle is also only at zero velocity (relative the the racquet) at the point when the string bed stops stretching (and the cork stops deforming) when in contact with the shuttle. This is also the point when the shuttle starts to accelerate.

The point at which the shuttle's velocity is at the maximum is when it leaves the string bed.

Correct. It's not like a bullet, which gets pushed forward by expanding gases after it leaves a barrel; onece the shuttle is off the strings, the laws of physics start to put the brakes on.

Now August is nearly among us, do any 'secret spies' have a release date yet.

Was going to hunt down another NS but may have to wait.

Do like the sound it.... Sigh, I'm falling for the PR crap again : )

It's so secret they put a date in their promo vid one page back ! August 22nd ... Of course that means UK around Christmas or so?

    Yes - Christmas 2016, probably.

IDC - I've gone straight to MBS this time.

OT: wouldn't happen to recall who around here was from Prestwich do you? (bumped into this bicycle (web)shop that had this discontinued tire I was looking for but the CS can't assure it is actually the correct version )

Great another meaningless (or outright misleading) marketing video from Yonex. I'm a loooong time Yonex customer but I am losing patience with their idiot marketing. I don't care what the speed of the shuttle 5 nanoseconds off my Racquet is, I care about what the velocity of my smash is when my opponent sees it. I also don't care, if the only thing the racquet can do well is smash.

Also, Z-speed is a stupid name. It's really past time some heads rolled in the marketing dept.

News to me. I thought that once the bullet leaves the barrel it is no longer being acted on by any thrusts from expanding gases (or anything else for that matter) and becomes subject to the forces of air resistance and gravity. Just like a shuttle that has lost contact with the strings.

Ok, enough of the talking. Time for some picture.
Looks like koo and tan will use this racket for the WC.
And it also looked like KKK is not quite satisfy with his performance with this racket

Is it just me or anyone who thinks that the colour scheme looked quite the same as the victor MX-JJS?
