So what is your experience after playing 2 months in those hi tecs, are they still performing well AND do they wear out easily?
They are very comfortable and grip extremely well, I had a problem with the sole on 2 levels but now I don't even notice it. No signs of wear and tear yet! I think you have to give it a bit of time to get used to them because the shape is different, rather like the ergoshape of the Yonex which gave the toes more space.
I have also been using the viper for a couple of weeks now, they are great, I had the yonex before and suffered terribly with shin splints and burning under the balls of my feet after only playing in them for a couple of times The grip is great and so is the comfort and soreness anywhere. A lot cheaper as well
I'm interested in getting a new pair of court shoes and now i'm wondering about the insoles of the Viper 400's. Did you guys have to change it for a more comfortable one?
Ifound with the Yonex models they need a considerable breaking in period (about 3-4 weeks) because the soles were inflexable. The Hi-tek are the only badminton trainers so far that I have not had to change the insoles. But in saying that I got a pair of the new Yonex models last week but they have scrapped the skin off my heel and I couldn't put on socks or trainers for a couple of days, just as well I was on holday and off work.
I never tried them with the Hi tec insoles inside. I have my own custom made insoles from a company in France called sidas http://www.sidas.com/UK/default.html (click on the english flag) Basically the insole is heated up and you stand on it for 10-15 minutes whilst it cols down and it is moulded in the shape of your foot. I used them when I was skiing and know how important they are for your feet! They make differnet insoles, stiff ones for ski boots and soft ones for tennis and sports where your feet will flex more. They make a big difference
