Current I am a Z slash user, however I am feeling a voltric, which voltric would be better for a Z Slash user, a VTZF or a VT80 I have used both and they don't seem that head heavy to me however I have not used it long term so I would like to get some thoughts.
You should probably go with VTZF since it's almost like a combination of VT80 and Z Slash. I'm using VTZF now and I like it better than my friend's VT80 (tried it for like 15 minutes) because I like to smash most of the time when I play.
Where "don't seem that head heavy" (or from another thread "way too headlight") actually means they are way too stiff and head heavy for me -> Voltric 70 or 4U VT80 at best.
In terms of control which is better vt80 or vtzf as I am a very control person, like to play on the line smashing power is second to a well-placed smash.
Neither are exactly meant to be control type rackets. You need an ArcSaber for that. These are offensive rackets trough and trough. But Vt-80 is not as head heavy so technically be easier to maneuver.
Maybe they aren't made to be control type rackets, however we have to take into account that even if they're head heavy and made for the attacking play style, that doesn't mean that they're not good at control. The same would go for all rackets. They excel at one type of style, but still makes it possible to produce good results for the others. On a personal note, I think the VT80 and VTZF has a mix of both good attack and control, however for me it does lack in defense.
I'm afraid that I can't answer that question since I've only tried Z-slash for a very short period of time. I never played any actual games with it, only did some basic shots on half-court. I'm certain that there is someone else who can answer your question though.
Yes, I've been using VTZF as my main singles racket and VT80 as my back-up. My take on it is that the ZF works very well in singles but not as well in doubles as it lacks in defense since it's very stiff and head heavy. This is the reason why I used to play with the VT70 and AT500 for doubles and just recently bought a BraveSword LYD. Going back to singles topic, it packs a punch and you you can clear from baseline to baseline without much effort thanks to the head heavyness and I've never boomed faster smashes than with the ZF (and the VT80 for that matter). Defense in singles works alright since you almost never lift the shuttle when your opponent smash anyway. I'm not saying that VTZF is bad for everyone in doubles, but to me it is. You'll have to determine it for yourself I'm afraid since what kind of racket suits you comes from personal taste.
comparing the vtzf and vt80 is there a big difference in smashing power and control etc. From what I hear the smashing power of the vt80 and vtzf are very similar.
When it comes to smashing I think the ZF is better. However, it's not THAT big of a difference but then again I'm probably not the right player to evaluate rackets in depth. I'm no professional by any means so my technique isn't perfect (= not 100% consistent). I've done some really heavy bazooka smashes with the Z-force that even I was surprised by, but it's not very often. I've never been able to produce the same power with VT80 though. When it comes to control, I've not experience that much of a difference. Both of the rackets work well around the net and making angled shots is easy as well (helps with the head heavyness). What I do have noticed with both of them is that when you've played for a while and your arm gets tired, the angled pushes tends to go a bit too far into the back-court rather than mid-court. Basically, I'm just not fast enough to be able to produce a good angle, thus hitting the shuttle a tad too late. This is mostly during doubles however since you don't push down the shuttle that often in singles anyway. I usually pick up rackets which feels right and that works well for me. I don't need to smash 400km/h (and I'll never be able to either), but as long as it's somewhat head heavy I always give it a try.
