Introduction on who is "TAUFIK HIDAYAT"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taufik_Hidayat From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Taufik Hidayat (born 10 August 1981 in Bandung, West Java) is an Indonesian badminton player. He is a former World and Olympic champion in men's singles. He has also won the Indonesian Open six times (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006) He was once gained no 1 BWF in the year 2000. Hidayat won the men's singles competition in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In August 2005, he won the men's singles competition at the IBF World Championships. He also won the gold medal at the Asian Games twice, at Busan in 2002 and Doha in 2006. Popular media has at times focused on the perceived rivalry between Hidayat and Chinese player Lin Dan, referring to the two as "arch rivals Player attributes Hidayat's main qualities are his backhand (as he is perhaps most famous for his backhand smash, revered for its unusually high generation of power), forehand jump smash, drop shot (reverse slice in particular), smooth footwork and deceiving net play. Hidayat's forehand jump smash in the 2006 world championships is currently the fastest smash recorded in single's competition: he recorded a 305 km/h in a match against Ng Wei (Masih rekor smash MS tercepat hingga saat ini! dan beliau juga masih memegang rekor backhand smash tercepat hingga saat ini,268kmh pas melawan Chen Hong .). This overwhelming power on both his forehand and backhand, combined with his tenacity at the net and scope for deceptive shots, provide him with an extremely diverse weaponry on court, making him one of the most difficult players to face on the open circuit. Criticisms are in his lack of fitness, impatience with loud crowds and his propensity to return a net shot with a net shot, even though his opponent is dangerously close to the net. Participation in the Indonesian team 5 times at Sudirman Cup (1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007) 7 times at Thomas Cup (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010,2012) 4 times at Summer Olympics at individual event (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012) Achievements Career finals (27 titles, 19 runner-ups) [/SIZE] Yonex rackets Taufik Hidayat ever used through his entire career.. Last but not least, even though Taufik Hidayat retired after losing from India's Sai Praneeth B in his last match,@ Djarum Indonesia Open 2013, as a professional badminton player, but i wish him a great future. Hopefully Taufik Hidayat Arena can bring their players out to compete with the world,n maybe create the next generation of Taufik Hidayat, that can entertain whoever that watches. Here are the pics I collected (missing MP99, Z-Slash OG, ARC11 & ARC11TH ...will update later but you also posted already)
I searched through the BC,n i found that in early year,TH used to change to MP100,but maybe didn't last long, that we couldn't find any picture of it. N from the Yonex website, all i see is CAB20.Pictures were quity dark so i couldn't really tell whether it's CAB20 or CAB20 other series.. Did u ever noticed any ISO series used by him before?since like we know,ISO were quite famous back in those days..
The first pic I posted, pretty sure it is Cab20 Muscle, there is no silver outline around the t-joint and the cone is black, not blue ... From the Yonex website he did use original Cab20 as well and also Cab9 . Just noticed he is using AT700 SP code in the 2004 OG, in this match against Gade anyway ... (or maybe SP/IP)
Ic..too bad i have sold my cab20 Muscle, otherwise could add it to this picture. Btw,when did he use CAB9 anyway? Yeap, back in those days, when still in the team,he often got SP/IP rackets..i even got his SP/HK old 700.
Thanks for the like, guys. But i hope we can share our thoughts among TH lovers,by replying this thread.
Excellent tribute to Mr. TH by Smichz, TH is one of the most flamboyant players and the skills to match. Too bad didn't get a chance to see him in action on the London Olympic 2012. All the best for the future!
Thx bro.. So,u managed to register and post in BC.Hope u find what u're looking for in here. Yeap,it's too bad u never seen him play live,in front of your eyes..i'm lucky enough to have seen him play for few times,live..
olli is correct. Cab20 Muscle is also a bit too new to be it (after checking the dates of the posts ) but looks practically the same from afar ... From the Yonex website: "My first encounter with YONEX was in 1993 when my father gave me a wonderful present – it was the Carbonex 9 racquet, which was really popular at the time. I remember the feeling when I first used it – the shuttlecock flew off the strings exactly how I’d always imagined playing with such a great racquet should feel. When I became a national junior player I used the Carbonex 20. It really suited my style of play and like a partner we grew together. Since then, I have stayed with YONEX and used no other brand." http://yonex.com/legendaryplayer/taufikhidayat/index.html#section2
This is a great thread and good tribute to TH. I guess you would have to restrict the rackets used list to those he used during his pro career. On which case I think we shouldnt count the Cab 9. Without a doubt he must have used at least one Iso racket between the Cab 20 and the MP77. Maybe the Iso 800? (I know Lin Dan used this) Would be good to have a thread like this for Peter Gade, starting with the Iso Tour 300
After all the 2003 WC final in Birmingham was Cab 20 vs Cab 21 (cmiiw), it is not a must to have an ISO in there .
